Accredited calibration at BAUR now also includes dissipation factor (tan delta)
Internationally recognised calibration of electrical devices for current, voltage, high voltage, resistance and dissipation factor
Following the award of the latest certificate from Akkreditierung Austria [‘accreditation Austria’], the BAUR calibration laboratory is expanding its range of services: from now on, electrical devices may be calibrated there with accreditation, not only for voltage, high voltage, electric current and resistance, but also for compliance with tolerances in dissipation factor measurement (at 48 to 62 Hz and 0.1 Hz). To date, no other accredited calibration service for dissipation factor at 0.1 Hz is listed in the public registers (as of August 2026).
The accreditation certificate issued by Akkreditierung Austria confirms that the calibration laboratory in Sulz meets the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for calibration laboratories. As the laboratory services described in the notification are provided independently of any particular manufacturer, BAUR can carry out accredited calibration of all high-voltage measurement systems and oil testers whose calibration points fall within the scope of accreditation.
Calibration increases the confidence in measurement results
“Accredited calibrated devices provide operators or their clients with reliable information,” says Fabian Tomaselli, the technical director of the BAUR calibration laboratory. “If the measured values — taking measurement uncertainty into account — fall within the tolerance limits, we confirm compliance, so that our customers can rely on the accuracy of their measuring devices.” Accredited calibration at BAUR offers the advantage that the calibration certificates are internationally recognised under the ILAC-MRA (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement).
Should the devices sent in for calibration exceed the tolerance limits, BAUR may offer an adjustment service. “If the adjustment was successful, recalibration can be used to certify compliance with the tolerances,” explains Tomaselli.
