VAS V5 goes mobile: Premiere for the VAS iPhone Apps
AUCBM – Conference on "Environmental Protection in Cement & Building Materials Industries" – 28th to 30th November 2011 in Amman, Jordan
Ulm / Amman, 25th October 2011. With the VAS iPhone Apps, players in the logistical process of the cement and building materials industry can now be incorporated in the processes when out of the office. The new Apps, presented to a wider audience for the first time at the international exhibition and conference of the Arab Union for Cement and Building Materials (AUCBM), from 28th to 30th November in Amman, Jordan, offer a wide range of functions – both for management, plants personnel and customers. "With the VAS iPhone Apps, the VAS Version 5 is now finally mobile. Not only can the processes in the local works be optimised, but also the information flow for management. We are thereby increasing the technological edge enjoyed by VAS users", says Claus Jordan, Director of Business Development & Marketing for VAS, summarising the unique features.
Via VAS iPhone Apps, drivers and customers can now inform themselves in advance about waiting lists and parking space statistics in the factory, view delivery schedules, call-up delivery note information or record and transfer vehicle details. The employees always have a current overview of the trucks currently in use in the plant - even if they are not at their desks. The App also supplies all important status reports from the terminals and scales, software and systems through to parking space information. A number of statistics functions and analysis options are available to members of management, which they can use to gain quick overview of individual customers or regions. Analyses of any sites can be called up at any time on the iPhone.
"We will develop these functions further so that functions such as a "mobile check-in" will be available in the future, making a contribution towards accelerating logistical processes in the works even more", explains Claus Jordan giving a forecast for further development.
About VAS
VAS, the process-orientated software solution for the cement and building materials industry, forms the whole process chain from delivery, vehicle scheduling and loading through to departure. As the link between the ERP systems and the technical facilities, VAS represents the key function and regulating feature for an efficient sequence of functions. Furthermore, VAS supports reporting and supplies real-time information in subsequent systems such as for production, sales or controlling. All external technical systems such as scales, silos or dosage technology are fully integrated in the processes of the VAS logistics system. VAS is currently used in more than 120 factories throughout the world involved in the cement and building materials industry.
