The current compact air-handling systems from GEA Air Treatment GmbH, in Herne, Germany, are characterized by greater efficiency and by gradation in the portfolio of model sizes that is even more in line with market requirements. In order to make this generation change more distinct, the names of the ready-to-install units have recently been unified: all compact RLT units will, beginning now, be offered under the name GEA COM4 (as in “comfort”). The smallest models, COM4mini, have been taken over from the former GEA Campos range, and have been supplemented by a third model size. The performance spectrum for air-flow rate here extends to approx. 2,200 m³/h. Mid-range and greater flow performance requirements, up to around 16,000 m³/h, are covered by the revised GEA COM4plus, with seven model sizes. In addition, the series COM4top – available in five model sizes up to 6,500 m³/h – is now in the portfolio, for indoor installation where space is limited. The air ducts are connected at the top for these very slender, standing compact units.
All new GEA COM4 models feature energy-saving, plug radial fans with EC motors whose fan speeds are infinitely variable for being matched to actual demand. Standard features include highly effective heat-recovery systems: cross-current plate heat exchangers for the GEA COM4mini, double-plate exchangers for the GEA COM4top, and rotation heat exchangers or plate exchangers for the GEA COM4plus.
Investors therefore receive a standardized solution from the factory: one in which resource-saving technology, including control system, are optimally installed in applications with limited space – plug-in ready and extensively pre-assembled in the factory to assure problem-free installation.
