Press’n’Relations is the first PR agency in the German-speaking area to introduce environmental management in accordance with EMAS and was also the first climate-neutral PR agency in Germany. As a result, we want to show how it makes absolute sense for service providers to get involved in this field. And we want to do even better ourselves. From 2008, the branches in Vienna and Zurich will also be incorporated into the CO2 balance sheet. These two branches will also work on the basis of the Environmental Management Handbook from 2009.
Press’n’Relations has also been supporting its customers in communicating environmental themes for years. Consequently, it has made sense to commit more heavily in this area for reasons of credibility. However, with the EMAS environmental management, Press’n’Relations is following advanced goals. Lasting economic success also depends on how climatic and environmental conditions will develop over the coming decades.
By introducing an environmental management system, Press’n’Relations wants to do its bit to limit the effects of climate change. To this end, environmental protection must be firmly anchored in the company and the environmental management must create the economic grounds for investing in ground-breaking environmental measures, for example by reducing energy consumption.
A company cannot work without producing CO2 emissions. Therefore, we offset the unavoidable emissions by investing in recognised and high-quality climate protection projects. There are details in our CO2 balance sheets for 2007 and 2008, which was calculated by Strategic Consulting at ClimatePartner.
The emission of CO2 by Press'n'Relations at the Ulm branch in 2007 and 2008 were offset with emission reduction certificates, which came from the Wind Power Project in VaniVilasSagar, Chitradurga District, Karnataka 2009 we invested in emission reduction certificates (VER-Gold-Standard) that came from Wind Power Project Manawatu/Ruhaine in New Zealand.
